We master movement skills that improve body alignment.  Our new skills become our new habits. Our new habits improve how we walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, squat, lift and twist all day.  It is the quality of our daily movements that dictates the quality of our health, mobility, mental alertness, attitude and our quality of life as we age.  Want to be healthy, strong and agile when you're age 90+?

  • 7-Day Free Trial—Sign up in our SHOP and enjoy our classes; no credit card is required. Start with the free Intro To Alignment 4-class series. 
  • Corrective Exercise virtual classes are taught by Restorative Exercise Specialists certified by Nutritious Movement, Katy Bowman M.S.  We offer excellent live-streaming classes every weekday and an extensive library of previously recorded classes matched to your particular topic of interest.
  • Strength Training - Below are three proven paths to restore and build your strength at any age: 

1.  SLOW WEIGHTS ONLINE classes use light weights and a slower pace to build endurance and strength. This live-stream online class is offered three days weekly and taught by a Restorative Exercise Specialist. It has been very popular for 15 years, so give it a try.  Access is included in our unlimited monthly membership or by purchasing a class package or drop-in pass.

2.  BE STRONGER ONLINE is our eight-week interactive program, offering classes four days weekly. It is like having an excellent private strength training session in your home, coached by Nancy Burns. When you are serious about strength training, give this program a try.   Our once-yearly enrollment opportunity ends September 30.  Details HERE. The next session begins September 9.  Included in our unlimited monthly membership. 

3.  AGE STRONG is an individualized, small-group strength and conditioning program that professionally and safely trains older adults to achieve great results.  We know that you can build muscle mass, maintain or improve bone mineral density, regain more flexible joint movements, and feel more alive in your body as you age.  This program is in person at Body Wisdom Studio and taught by Nancy Burns with assistant coaches.  There is usually a wait list, so apply early.

Nancy Allen Burns 

I founded Body Wisdom Studio in 2007 with the mission to change the paradigm of aging in this country to one of strength and vitality instead of slow decline.  It has been an amazing journey and a privilege to touch so many lives. 

There is no single movement discipline perfect for every body.  The art of assessing and teaching movement is to know what methods to draw from and exactly how to apply those skills to optimally address your unique individual needs.    I've been fortunate to learn from masters in many movement methods over the past 19 years.  My certifications include  Restorative Exercise Specialist and Personal Trainer, Certified by Nutritious Movement;  MovNat Level 1 Certified Instructor;  Strength Training for Older Adults.  Past certifications include Strength and Conditioning,  Massage Therapy, Pilates Mat Exercise and Aqua Exercise. I've also benefited from training with MELT Method, Yoga TuneUp, Original Strength, and TRE-Trauma and Tension Releasing Exercise.
